#30, Physical Reminders: The Cloak

Do you have any physical items related to or that remind you of your fictomere? Merch, something you made, or something else?

Well, I have a cloak.

Back at home, I could typically never be found without my cloak--a big, black thing with a hood, comes down almost to our feet, and it's one of those ones that comes all the way around your body to nearly close in the front, held on by a single button or clasp around the neck area. No arm holes, so one has to push quite a bit of the fabric aside to use one's arms. It's marvelous. The drama, the weight, how it moves when you walk and gesture... Forgive me. I am a vampire and a bit of a wizard; it is in my nature to be dramatic, especially after living for over a thousand years.

My cloak at home was black, trimmed with white and silver runes. The one we have now, in this world, though... It's still quite tough, quite heavy, and the same general shape, although it's a singular dark blue, almost navy, color. Tanix, my host, loves it almost as much as I do, and it keeps our frail mortal frame adapted for Texas but forced through east coast winters quite warm. Unfortunately for him, however, we co-front so often and I love the cloak so much that, when we wear it, there is a very high chance of me accidentally taking over the front entirely. It can provide a nice break for him, and makes switching quite easy, but it does limit his ability to enjoy the cloak! I can't help it. The weight of it on my shoulders makes me feel like myself again, and I can almost forget how different these hands look, how incorrectly the face is shaped.

Again, it's marvelous. I highly recommend a cloak to everybody.
