#34, Music: The Bard-Alchemist-Wizard

Does your fictomere have any kind of connection to music? Are there any songs that really remind you of your fictomere?

I feel weird answering my own prompts.

I always had a very strong connection to music--from a young age, I would sing to myself when alone, when working, when thinking or pondering. Once I Awakened as a Mage, and unlocked my power... well. Every Mage is different. Some do magic through technology, others through drawing chalk symbols, some through blood or spoken word or hand gestures. I had plenty of barked phrases and hand gestures in my time, along with potion-making, but the main focus of my magic was music.

I was, in D&D or Pathfinder terms, a bard, a wizard, and an alchemist. (I don't like using the word "bard" to describe myself, but it gets the point across to a modern audience.)

With song, I could set traps for my enemies, empower my allies, granting speed, insight, strength, healing... I could slow and discourage and distract the enemy, and out of combat, I could weave enchantments with my voice, sing objects and energies into being. I could heal and reshape bodies, especially my own, I could do... it felt like anything. Magic, in my world, was limitless potential, where the only thing stopping you from accomplishing something was your own doubt that you could. Song was the main thread that carried my usage and understanding of magic: losing it as a casting component when I became a vampire was... more than a little difficult. It became a pastime, but in the end, I mostly let it go, limiting myself to playing the occasional piano piece and rarely humming or singing unless content and completely alone.
